Job Summary:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and managing exhibitor relationships for ITB China, the leading trade fair for the Chinese travel market, held each year in May in Shanghai, organized by Messe Berlin China.
This role involves developing and implementing effective sales strategies, managing Chinese and international exhibitor accounts, and ensuring the successful execution of the fair. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales and key account management, particularly in the trade fair, events and/or tourism industry.
Key Responsibilities:
· Sales Strategy Development:
o Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve sales targets
o Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base
o Monitor market trends and competitor activities to refine sales strategies
· Client Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
o Address client needs and concerns promptly to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
o Develop long-term partnerships with clients to drive repeat business
· Event Coordination:
o Collaborate with marketing, buyer, and operations departments to ensure better sales results and seamless execution of the event
o Oversee all aspects of the exhibitor management, including booth and sponsorship sales, contract management, invoicing, booth positioning, and onsite exhibitor care
o Ensure all activities align with the company's overall event and sales strategy
· Reporting and Analysis:
o Prepare and present regular sales and progress reports to the Director of Sales
o Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
o Use data-driven insights to refine sales strategies and improve overall performance
Qualifications:
· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, or related fields are preferred
· Experience:
o 5-7 years of experience in sales and/or key account management
o Experience in event management, trade fair sales, and/or the travel/tourism industry is highly advantageous
· Skills:
o Business, sales and service driven mindset
o Fluent in both Mandarin and English
o Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
o Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
o Ability to work under pressure
o Frequent domestic and international travel
